Established in 1836, Providence Cemetery is one of the oldest sites in Texas.

The cemetery includes over 600 graves -- some simply marked with stones and graves of veterans from the Civil War, World War I, World War II and other wars.

The State of Texas recognized the cemetery with a historical marker.

The Providence Cemetery Association provides care for the grounds through contributions.
